Join us for a fun 3-day 640-mile ride to experience some of the biggest and best things our state has to offer.
Here are some of the highlight:
Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum
Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site – the childhood log cabin home of our tallest president
Moonshine Store – a mom & pop general store that serves up some of the best burgers in the state
The Giant Cross along I-57 in Effingham
Casey, Illinois – BIG Things in a Small Town
On Friday, August 18, we will be meeting at 7:00 AM at our new staging location at 4700 Hoffman Blvd in Hoffman Estates (parking lot in front of the Burlington Coat Factory). On the way, we will stop for breakfast in Shorewood, visit the Route 66 Museum in Pontiac, and then continue to the Holiday Inn Express in Mattoon. We are planning to have a catered dinner at the hotel on the evening of our arrival. We will be collecting cash for this dinner during staging. Please check back for the amount to be collected.
On Saturday, August 19, we will start the day visiting the Lincoln Log Cabin, followed by lunch at the Moonshine Store. After lunch, we will take a relaxing ride to Effingham where we will visit the Giant Cross as well as a private auto museum.
On Sunday, August 20, we will have a short devotion time in the morning followed by a visit to Casey, with over 30 gigantic items spread throughout the town and more than a dozen of them are Guinness World Records. After a delightful Sunday brunch, we will make our way back home.
