HighRoad has created a theme for many of this year’s rides. We are honoring the Ojibwe Tribal community, Lac Du Flambeau in Northern WI. That’s why we’re using Ojibwe words to name some of our rides. Our Lac Du Flambeau friends have shown us wonderful hospitality and HRR has tried to bless them in various ways for the past few years.
Gichigami Weekend Ride Info:
Join us for a spectacular three-day, 950-mile ride to the Kewaunee Peninsula in Northern Michigan. Were calling this ride the Gichigami Ride, which in Ojibwe means “A Great Lake”. The word Anishinaabewi-gichigami more specifically translates into Lake Superior, and that’s the lake we’ll be enjoying on this ride!
This ride will include many scenic roads and spectacular views of Lake Superior.
Points of interest stops will include:
Town of Copper Harbor
Brockway Mountain Drive
The Jampot Bakery
Ride start: 7:00 AM on Friday, July 19th at the HRR launch point at Burlington Coat in Hoffman Estates
